It never quite fits with Mirror’s Edge’s aesthetic, unfortunately, and the same is true of the 2D animated cutscenes, which succeed in being different and are competently voice-acted, but feel somehow separate from the rest of the game’s design.
The usual conspiracies, betrayals and plot twists abound, and it’s no surprise to see in the credits that the story was contracted out to a third-party. Faith is a delivery girl for barely a mission before the plot descends into an overly-familiar tale of her sister being framed for murder, while Faith is hunted by powerful forces as she attempts to find out why. Unfortunately, the story doesn’t quite match the potential of the premise. She’s one of them, parkouring her way across the city’s rooftops to deliver packages like a flashier FedEx. The game’s main character, Faith, lives in a totalitarian state in the near-future, where the only way to get restricted information from one person to another is through the use of ‘runners’. There’s something else Nordic in there too, though: the sudden, maddening inability to work out the quickest way to the warehouse through a throng of angry-looking potential killers. Graphically it’s all clean lines, with washed-out colours and minimalist design while aurally there’s an ethereal, Röyksoppian soundscape that gives way to thudding techno in the myriad of chase sequences that litter the game.
City Eye helicopter the ending scene features a helicopter and Faith about to jump and hang onto it, similar to the ending of The Edge.Mirror’s Edge reflects developer DICE’s Scandinavian roots. Unnamed Pirandello Kruger SWAT forces they open fire on Faith when she is in a room with a secret file. Mercury - Faith's instructor on the first mission he is never seen in this game, but gives Faith advice on text panels. The game re-uses voice clips from the original game of Faith breathing and moaning. Rolling (automatically done when falling/jumping down on a high elevation). Collect secret files guarded by City Protection Force (optional, but they activate another game mode when all are obtained). Collect all “Mirror's Edge“ icon “coins“ (optional). Get to checkpoints (optional, but is really good to have when you "die", for you respawn there instead at the start). Start from the beginning of the mission and get to the end of it (about three levels total). Baddie Rush (try to grab as many files before you get killed by the PK Guards). #MIRRORS EDGE 2D 2 TRIAL#
Time Trial (get through a mission as fast as you can, and beat other people's scores if you can requires you to pass the missions on Story mode first).
Story (get through all three missions, with some optional objectives below). This game is also partially sponsored by EA and DICE, the publisher and creator (respectively) of the original game. The game's engine is based on the Fancy Pants one, therefore making it two dimensional. It is loosely based on Mirror's Edge, with objects like ropes and pipes and featuring Faith Connors as the main character. The "Mirror's Edge 2D" is a flash and internet browser-based game made by Brad Borne, the creator of the famous "Fancy Pants Adventure" Flash Game Series.
